9 Points in Managing Your Projects
Some people believe you can’t handle above 10 projects simultaneously without messing up and tasks slipping, but just last month (June), I experienced this.
Of course, being in the line of IT business, and with high demands of our services, I usually have a large work load to take care of, and pretty much used to it too. Just this last June, I had 10 new website contracts, 2 graphical design contracts, as well as a contract executed in our architectural sub-division but managed by myself. In addition, our teams had nearly 15 pending new offers with constant going back and forth, as well as some open previous projects! So, I wanted to share my experience so that if anyone else found himself/herself in my situation, they would know how to handle it.
1- Set a timing and a timesheet for each project- and stick to it
2- Plan your day, your week, your month
3- At the end of each day (or half-day!) plan again and check your progress
4- Constantly update your task list
5- Use all your resources to their utmost energy
6- Try hard, don’t get tired
7- Follow ups- don’t let it go. Your customers should know you have a schedule
8- Team work: we need to work together to move forward
9- Don’t say no to new tasks and requests, customer service and assistance is a plus and will fulfill your career
Of course, these are just some of the main points of my very heavily loaded months, and I hope it helps anyone reading.
You can comment about your experience and I would be glad to hear.
